What is Popcornie?

Popcornie is a spoiler-safe TV companion app. You can search for shows, track your watch progress, and ask AI-powered questions without intentionally jumping ahead of the episodes you have watched.

Is Popcornie free to use?

Yes. Popcornie has a free plan and also offers in-app purchases.

What are popcorns?

Popcorns are the in-app units used to ask questions.

Each question costs 1 popcorn
Free users receive 3 free popcorn weekly
The weekly refill is scheduled for Friday at 12:00 UTC
Paid monthly Premium subscribers receive 150 Premium popcorn per paid period
Premium popcorn resets each paid monthly period and does not roll over
Purchased popcorn does not expire
Popcorn is spent in this order: Premium, then free, then purchased
If all usable popcorn is depleted, asking questions requires a refill or purchase even for Premium subscribers

Popcornie currently supports account creation and sign-in through:

Using the app

How do I add a show to my library?

Open Home
Search for a TV show
Open the result
Tap continue / add flow
Choose discovery mode or set your season and episode progress

What is discovery mode?

Discovery mode is for shows you have not started yet. The app should stay at a high level and avoid discussing plot details beyond that context.

What is watch mode?

Watch mode is for shows you are already watching. You set your current season and episode so the app can avoid answering beyond that point.

Why was an answer blocked?

If a response may reveal information beyond your saved watch progress, the app can block or limit the answer to reduce spoiler risk.

Billing and purchases

How do I buy more popcorn?

Open the Shop tab and choose one of the available popcorn packs.

How do I upgrade to Premium?

Open the Shop tab and use the Premium purchase flow.

Premium currently includes:

150 Premium popcorn per paid monthly period
a 100-show saved-library limit
full per-show chat history

Free users currently have a 15-show saved-library limit and can review the latest 16 chat bubbles per show.

How do I restore purchases?

Go to:

Profile -> Restore Purchases

Use the same Apple ID or Google account that was used for the original purchase.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by the app store account that billed you.

iOS: Settings -> [Your Name] -> Subscriptions -> Popcornie
Android: Play Store -> Profile -> Payments and subscriptions -> Subscriptions

Deleting your Popcornie account does not automatically cancel store billing.

Account and privacy

How do I change my display name or language?

Open Profile and update the relevant setting from the account section.

How do I delete my account?

Go to:

Profile -> Danger Zone -> Delete Account

Current behavior includes a 30-day recovery window before permanent deletion is executed.

What data does Popcornie collect?

Popcornie currently uses account data, show library data, watch progress, question history, purchase state, and related identifiers needed to run the service.

Troubleshooting

The app is not loading or is crashing

Try:

Close and reopen the app
Restart the device
Confirm network access
Update to the latest version

I did not receive my weekly free popcorn

The free refill is scheduled for Friday at 12:00 UTC.

If the refill still does not appear after that window:

Reopen the app
Sign out and sign back in
Contact support if the issue continues
