Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Popcornie, you agree to these Terms of Service.

If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. What Popcornie Is

Popcornie is a mobile application for:

• discovering TV shows
• adding shows to a personal library
• tracking season and episode progress
• asking spoiler-safe AI questions
• purchasing popcorn packs
• subscribing to Premium

The service may change over time. Features may be modified, suspended, or removed.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Popcornie.

By using the app, you represent that:

• you are at least 13 years old
• the information you provide is accurate
• you will use the service lawfully

4. Accounts

4.1 Creating an account

Popcornie currently supports account creation and sign-in through:

• Apple Sign In
• Google Sign In

You are responsible for keeping access to the Apple or Google account you use with Popcornie secure.

4.2 Account responsibility

You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.

If you believe your account is compromised, contact us promptly.

4.3 Account deletion

You can request account deletion from:

• Profile -> Danger Zone -> Delete Account

Current app behavior includes a 30-day recovery period before permanent deletion is executed.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• break the law through your use of the app
• interfere with the app, backend, or related systems
• attempt unauthorized access
• abuse purchases, entitlements, or billing flows
• reverse engineer or misuse the service
• use automation or scraping in a way that harms the service

6. User Content

You are responsible for content you submit, including:

• questions you ask
• support messages you send

You grant us the limited rights needed to process that content in order to operate Popcornie.

7. TV Metadata, AI Output, and Third-Party Services

Popcornie depends on third-party services, including:

• TMDB for TV show metadata and images
• Google Gemini models for AI-generated answers
• Supabase for auth and backend services
• RevenueCat for purchase and entitlement handling

Important:

• TMDB and other third-party content remain subject to their own rights and terms.
• This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
• AI responses may be incomplete, inaccurate, or imperfect.
• We aim to reduce spoilers, but we do not guarantee that every response will be spoiler-free.

8. Purchases, Popcorn, and Premium

8.1 Free popcorn

Current free-plan behavior at launch:

• free users receive 3 free popcorn weekly
• the refill is scheduled for Friday at 12:00 UTC
• unused free popcorn does not roll over

8.2 Purchased popcorn

• purchased popcorn is sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store
• purchase availability and pricing are shown in the store purchase sheet
• purchased popcorn has no cash value
• purchased popcorn does not expire unless required by law or store/platform policy

8.3 Premium subscription

At launch, Popcornie offers one monthly auto-renewing Premium subscription.

The current paid monthly Premium subscription includes:

• 150 Premium popcorn per paid monthly period
• a 100-show saved-library limit
• full per-show chat history

Premium popcorn is used before free and purchased popcorn. Unused Premium popcorn does not roll over into the next paid period and is removed or disabled when Premium access ends. Premium does not remove popcorn costs; asking questions still requires available usable popcorn.

Premium benefits are determined by the app’s current offering and purchase configuration, which may change over time.

8.4 Billing and cancellation

• billing is handled by Apple or Google, not directly by Popcornie
• restore purchases is available inside the app
• subscription cancellation must be done through the relevant app store account settings
• deleting your Popcornie account does not itself cancel App Store or Google Play billing
• cancellation stops future billing through the store but does not automatically refund unused subscription time

9. Intellectual Property

Popcornie, its app design, branding, and code are protected by applicable intellectual property law.

You may not copy, modify, redistribute, or exploit the app except as allowed by law or with written permission.

Third-party names, logos, and content remain the property of their respective owners.

10. Privacy

Your use of Popcornie is also governed by the Privacy Policy.

Use the published privacy policy URL associated with the current release for the most current disclosure.

11. Availability and Changes

We do not guarantee that the app will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free.

We may:

• update the service
• change features
• change pricing
• remove or replace content sources
• suspend or terminate abusive accounts

12. Disclaimers

Popcornie is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the fullest extent permitted by law.

We do not guarantee:

• uninterrupted service
• error-free behavior
• perfect spoiler prevention
• perfect AI accuracy

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Popcornie.

If the law requires liability, it will be limited to the amount you paid for Popcornie purchases in the 12 months before the claim, to the extent permitted by law.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, misuse the service, or create security, billing, or legal risk.

You may stop using the app at any time and may request account deletion through the app.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

When we do, we will update the “Last Updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated in app or through other appropriate channels.
